APD’s Founder, Paul Allen, hails from Shreveport, LA. Paul graduated from Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, LA with a BS in electrical engineering technology. After leaving Louisiana Tech, Paul joined a General Motors dealership where he became a master automotive technician. After 7 years in Ruston, Paul started his career in the oil and gas industry – joining the global giant Schlumberger where he became a Field Specialist in artificial lift – developing and operating electrical submersible pumps (“ESP”) at a consistent high level. These skills and experience resulted in Paul becoming a Field Optimization Engineer for Pioneer Natural Resources. Very recently, Paul accepted a new position at Pioneer as the Artificial Lift Advisor, providing guidance on all artificial lift operations, assisting in failure analysis, and serving as the subject matter expert for ESP operations.

The development skills Paul acquired in the oil and gas industry sparked his interest in real estate development. In Paul’s words: “Even as a child, I had a passion for real estate. After my parents noticed my interest in the construction of real estate, they took me to different classes where I learned the intricacies of small renovations. This led to additional studies and an expanded knowledge of the real estate industry as a whole. My background in engineering, oil and gas developments, and my passion for real estate played major factors in launching my own real estate development company. I am the Founder/Manager and CEO of Allen Properties & Developments, LLC. The company’s first project is a 22-unit multifamily townhouse development called Lizzie’s Garden™ located in Ruston, LA. My story is still being written and I am excited about my future in real estate development.”
